刘跃(Yue Liu)教授在美国德克萨斯大学阿灵顿分校数学系任职,美国布朗大学应用数学系博士毕业,师从国际著名数学家Walter Strauss教授。刘跃教授主要研究兴趣在非线性波解的适定型、稳定性、长时间性态以及数值计算等,在CPAM, ARMA, CMP, Adv. Math., JMPA, JFA, CPDE, Math. Ann., Math. Z., TAMS, SIMA. MA. 等国际著名刊物上发表论文90余篇。
报告摘要:
In the present talk, we derive a simplified phenomenological model of shallow-water wave propagating mainly in the equatorial ocean regions with the Coriolis effect caused by the Earth's rotation. The model equation which is analogous to the Green-Naghdi equations with the second-order approximation of the Camassa-Holm scaling captures stronger nonlinear effects than the classical dispersive integrable equations like the Korteweg-de Vries and two-component Camassa-Holm system. The wave-breaking phenomena are investigated based on the method of characteristics and the Riccati-type differential inequality. The condition of permanent waves is also demonstrated by analyzing competition between the slope of average of horizontal velocity component and the free surface component.
